So it looks like the 1g kits main power wire has some length of black sleething around the end that connects to the battery.

Questions are

1. Is this on both kits?

2. Approximately how long is this part?

Im thinking of getting the 1g kit and using the 1g wire to relocate my battery to my trunk. Trying to figure this out before shelling out the dough

Yes it is on both kits (I have purchased both.) The black sheething is TechFlex and has heatshink ends at the ring terminal and then another pair of heatshrinks about 18" away with directions to cut and install the fuse there, then another 4' or so of techflex till it is terminated with another heatshrink, the remainder of the 20' of wire is standard issue.
