Kicker or rocksfords

My uncle has big connections with a rocksford dealer and can get some sweet prices. I was looking at kicker subs, it seems like they are the only thing ppl talk about on this forum. but does anyone like rocksfords. 12inchs would be the size of my choice, what modle number is best?

My brother has two 12" HE2's in his Tahoe ported to 38Hz running off of a USA 1000 amp and it freakin slams the SQ is lacking a tad but if you want hard hitting bass HE2's or Power RF's are the way to go.

Well make sure that ABSOLUTELY no water will get to them. Kicker does have some Marine speakers I'm sure you checked out I'm not sure about RF's. Yeah RF is the way to go then HE2's handle 500rms for a 12" and I think the Powers handle 1000rms if you have the power to run them go with Power especially if you can get a good deal for them. You might if the price is right selling the powers on Ebay and getting more money than you spent for them and actually make a profit on them. Then you could buy a sweet amp for the HE2's or the power subs. Just an idea.

its rockford...not rocksford...thought i would tell ya...but they are power hungrey where i dont know much about kicker but if i am right the kicker is not very efficient..depends on the model...

I'd take the power HX2 RFR-3112..

but as you said..BIG connections.. if that's true, I would say get yourself

need I say more? It's the pinnacle as far as rockford subs go (except maybe the gold plated limited version of the TRF for its team members a couple years ago as seen in last year's online catalogue, Loyd might/should know something about this)

Jeez Drew are you one of those guys that sent an L7 2000rms and then expected it to handle it all day. I'm so tired of people saying that L5's and L7's are crap when they go way over their rms power. Either that or they dont break them in properly and they fry the sub get a new one and fry that one. Pick yourself up a few Rockford TRF 12" if you can....

If not, the Power HX2's are the best RF subs...

venom, why dont you try to do a search on breaking-in subs. You'd be suprised at what knowledgable people have to say about that. Jlaine's response to it was quite different from the majority of the people that told me otherwise.
