should i get 2 10" kicker L7's in a ported box or 2 re se 10's ported? i want good spl but some good sq. they will both be getting 500 watts rms.
WTF are you talking about. Those RE's will kick the **** outa the l7 in both sq and spl, especially if the L7 isnt in the right box.I would go with the l7 unless you were gonna get the XXX. But between the l7 and the se, i would get the l7
Ported will most likely be louder if the enclosure is the right size.would 2 of the 12" re se's in a sealed box be louder than 2 of the se's in a ported box?
That is a very biased opinion. It is very likely that you can gain more than 3 decibels with a ported box. Also, if done correctly, a ported box can sound just as good.Nope, ported exclosures get 3 db's louder than the sealed, but the ported dont sound as good.
I'd probably try to do at least 3 cubes AFTER sub and port displacement. So your probably looking at a 3.6 cube box all together.would 2.8 ft^3 be big enough for 2 re 10's ported?
Probably a cube per sub. Check out their site, http://www.respl.com, and look in the enclosure section under "tech". It'll give you box sizes they recommend.that's bigger than i wanted to go because i don't have a lot of trunk space. what size would you recommend for a sealed box?
