Kicker L7s

I have two 12-L7s in a pre-fab Pro Box Super Bass (vented) I think the sq sounds great. The specs to that box are alot closer to the L7s recommended specs. The generic solo-baric boxes you see at every sterero shop will kill the sq on them. Just me opinion. Get a custom box made for them and you will be more than pleased.

no worries thai creeper. I just don't want to switch to two 15" L7s if they aren't going to be that much louder than two 9500s. my one 9500 is just, well, rediculous, but I need more. And chances are, after I upgrade, I'll want even more, just like everyone else.

^^ fsho man, i dont know much about subs just got one l5 haha my first sub but im happy with it besides wanting to upgrade the box to make it a lil louder. but yea, sounds like ur always gonna want more so maybe just stick wit your current subs and save up for sum crazy shit lik xxx's or solo x's

What do you think these 2 15" L7s in a 6-7.5 cubic foot box tuned anywhere from 28-34hz would sound? Would that box be severely cutting down on their capabilities?

ummm mayby its just me but 9500 > L7 , but i suppose since its 2 12" 95's and 2 15" L7's the l7's might have the 95's beat.... but some guy from nc who posted a video of his 9500 and that thing totally rattles every body panel on his car sounds like he should have 4 15"s in the back....

Trust me, my 9500 is absolutely insane, but I thought the L7s were just a cheap very loud way to go. It would save me a lot of money to go with the L7s rather buy a 9500, another 1501d (or just get a 2500d), another snailshell, a battery, upgrade big 3, and new alternator... If i sold my box and sub for 600 that would cover the L7s and box.

If your single mtx is loud, and good sq, just get another one!

I've owned l7's before, and they're CRAZY loud, but with MOST subs, l7's included, sq and spl are both obtainable, but at the sacrifice of the other. Most people complain about l7s' poor sound quality, but that's mostly because prefabbed and recommended enclosures for them are made to purposely be peaky and loud at shortened freq. ranges for performance, over SQ.

Kicker's a great speaker, but it sounds like your current setup is what everyone's really looking for, the holy grail of car audio, if you will. Hehe. You've got great sq, and it's already LOUD, you just want more, so i'd just reup and double your current setup.

To clarify, kickers are great, but if you scrap your current setup and go with a completely new sub/amp/box setup, you could never find that perfect harmonious balance again. if you just double your current setup, you already know you'll like the sound, you'll just have more of it.

>>and i step aside to open another 40 of mickeys.

yeah that's it basically. I mean, I think I should just wait until the end of summer when I have some money, or after graduation so I can just spend the extra cash and double what I have. Thanks everyone for the input, and thanks heyman for the post.
