Alright, I just bought 2 12" Kicker L7's from a friend of mine who said they're wired at 4Ohm's.. I'm not really familiar with car audio at all, so I'm wondering if that's a good wirring option or not? Or if it's possible to rewire them to lower Ohm's...?

Also, as far as amps I was thinking: If anyone could give me some imput on a good amp.. Not looking to spend over 300 on amp, as I paid 200 for subs and I don't wanna go overboard..

Amps:

Power Acoustik BAMF-4000/1D (BAMF40001/D)4000W Max, Class D Monoblock BAMF Series Amplifier

I just read on the Kicker website that they reccommend running a 3000W Peak/1500W RMS amp on 2 12" L7's. So if you guys could help me out with these questions it would be great!

I know they've been asked before I looked, but I just wanted to see if I can get some uptdated answers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Thanks..

There are better choices but out of what you posted the quantem is the better bet. It wont do 3000rms at 1 ohm like they say but should do about 1000-1500rms at 1 ohm. Then rewire the l7's to 1ohm instead of 4 ohm and each sub will get about 500-750rms. Whats your budget for an amp? If you let me know i can help you find an amp that will fit your budget and work best. PM me if you would like to.

Hey, thanks for the answers guys. As you can probably tell I'm literally brand new to this car audio..

Yeah, my budget isn't too big as of right now (college student)..

How would I wire the subs to be 1 OHM, is that just wirring each sub individually to the output on the box?

Also, I actually did see that AP amp somewhere and considered it for a while until I found those 2 on ebay. I also found a Power Acoustik one on ebay 2600W Peak 2 Channel amp for 179 shipped with 2 year warranty. So that might be something to consider.

Im not looking to break records with this, I just want something that has a little more bump than NOTHING. Lol Chryslerr 300C's don't have a great system.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Thanks for the replies, and I look forward to getting more! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you cant wire them to 2 ohm dont get a kicker amp

Option 1 (parallel/parallel) = 1 ohm load

Voice coils wired in parallel, speakers wired in parallel

Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 1 ohm mono

Two 4 ohm DVC Speakers = 1 ohm load

Option 2 (series/parallel) = 4 ohm load

Voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel

Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono

Two 4 ohm DVC Speakers = 4 ohm load

Is this a blue or blue/white wire from the Kenwood? The ACC wire is red and although that should turn on the amp, it is not the prefered wiring...
