I think ive made a decision, instead of 2 L512's ported . I have a $200 limit for subs and want space too.

sound good? Ive read on termpro that people put 1200w on a 12" all the time and they handle it fine.

I think it will work, but in a ported application, and how you set everything, it may be a matter of time...ported, max power goes down....if the two L512's is still an option, you'll be safer, and have more output.

i think general rule of thumb is +/- 20% of rms is what you should aim for

What's the amp put out at 2 ohms? In a big ported box, you could buy up a dual 4 ohm sub, wire it to 2 ohms and not worry at all.
