I agree 100 percent. Every sub i have blown gives the EXACT same symptoms . AND all the coils I blown blew from the bottom and not the top. The tops always looked ok to me. I have theorized about this before and do believe it is due to the top of coil gets much better cooling. but typically if you can hear a crunch sound and it is hard to move blown coil. And honestly to shift a magnet I would think would take a LOT of force and would leave a massive mark on the sub and honestly I believe it would shatter the magnet before it would move it. But as I said before if it made it shift it would FOR SURE leave a major mark on the sub . but test the coilsJust because they don't look blown doesn't mean that something isn't wrong with them.
Get a DMM and check the resistance of both coils.

First of I am pretty sure that amp puts out more power than that. but box matters. Some boxes drastically reduce power handling. And YES it can be burned. the voice coil is longer than the 1/2 inch of it you see. test them. I am about 97 percent sure it is blown coili'll check my coils and get back to u guys on it if they are fine what else could be the problem
i know for sure my vc isn't burned or anything like that
i was pushin 2 l7's off 1000 watts rms 1.1000bd or w.e RF calls thme
Ahhh that was a pretty good thought honestly (thinking outside the box or should I said outside the subwoofer lol) anyways I would say no because for one it is cast and for 2 again I think there would be a massive mark on the woofer from being dropped. Now the EASIEST route is to test the coils so please do that before we use any more of our time trying to figure out what the problem is for yais it possible that the basket bent enough to allow the coil to lock up?i know that they are cast on L7's so it would likely break instead of bend
