i just got a kicker L5 which blowe up after 2 hours of playing

i play it with a kicker zx750.1 amp

nowi will get RMA for this one and i'm thinking on changing it for kicker L7 you think this is a good choice

or i can get a better sub for the same amount of money?

but i wasn't very impressed from L5's

so now i'm concerned wether or not to spend more cash for L7 or something even better(if you have something to suggest)

my question is...why did you blow the L5? you must be doing something wrong. it's not the best sub ever, but it isn't that bad. built a couple of systems with L5's, and they aren't too bad.

i plaied them with a zx1000.1 amp for a while that is 1000rms at 2 ohms

and the bass could take about 600

i think that this sub cannot perform well in frequencies more than 35Hz

and moreover i have a VW Passat and in the cabin i could barely listen to the bass

i need something more powerfull and something that wil be able to perform good on fast bass

i used to have a 15" L5 and i loved it. it worked great in any box i had it in. any where from a sealed 1.5 cu ft to ported tuned to 32 with 5 cu ft. i pushed mine with a zx750.1 as well and i never had any problem with it. i'd say you did something to it to blow it. i'd think they can handle 1000 rms pretty well. but now i have 2 12" L7's and i love them even more. i'm pushing them with a vr2000d pushing anywhere from 1000 to 1200 rms to one sub and i have yet to smell the coils on these babies. i'd say it's worth it to get the L7's they can handle a beating and will get plenty loud for you.

the thing is w/ kicker it plays the box tuning. and if you tune it right u play more. to high and ull break it on lows. my turd friend had an l5 for 3 monthes and popped that thing like nothin id seen. sure it was loud but it wasnt tuned right. the l7 should handle better because it handles 1000rms and kicker subs are usually efficient as crazyness. i almost went w/ 2 12" cvrs but im proly gonna go with 2 dif 12"s. just because they wont be able to play loud in my set up.
