hmmm...you have a good point. so with the money i will be saving by only buying the woofer and not the box, should i get one or two

If you got room, 2 ported CVR 15s would be sweet. If you're listen to just rock and never anything where you need the oomph, 2 15s is a little overkill imo. Id rather just get something like a single nice 10/12 that will give the kick drums a nice little thump and be done.

Depending on what you listen to, 2 ported 15s would be great. They will have the bass for really cranking it up.

If you do ONLY listen to rock, volume isnt all that important. If this is the case just go with a single nice 10/12.

I tried a 12" L5 in one of those pre-fab boxes and it sucked. Then I built a custom ported enclosure for it, and I still didn't like it. My cousin gave me his old sealed 12" L7 enclosure, and guess what, I still didn't like the L5.
My main complaint was that it was a one note wonder that had a muddy, inaccurate sound to it. If you listen to mostly hip-hop, it probably won't be that bad. If you mainly listen to something other than hip-hop, prepare to be disappointed! No more square subwoofers for me!

i had this exact problem except mine was the cvx,i originally thought it was the box until i changed woofers.no more mudd for me lol

When I started out actually competitng, I had only a single 12" L7 in my jeep. It wasnt too bad.... it finally met its death on a hk4000 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

If I were you, id just do the two 12 cvr's. Not to big to take up too much room, and it will daily bang ok. You yourself said you wanted to keep some space still, and 15's will start to consume square feet quickly.

2 15s ported will take a ton of room. Just do 2 CVR 12s sealed in 2.5 cubes.
