Kicker L5 in this factory box is what i'm looking at getting for the jeep. Something i can have in the back and still have room for stuff. What do you guys think, anybody had an L5 in their SUV?

Also, suggestions for amp to power it? Its sayd 450 RMS rated, so i'm looking to find a solid 500WRMS amp that could fit under my back seats. Thanks guys!

2 12's would sound better than 1 10 in a suv...i have a dc audio 15 ported to 30hz in a chevy TB suv.. and that thing gets loud and low....

I tried a 12" L5 in one of those pre-fab boxes and it sucked. Then I built a custom ported enclosure for it, and I still didn't like it. My cousin gave me his old sealed 12" L7 enclosure, and guess what, I still didn't like the L5.

My main complaint was that it was a one note wonder that had a muddy, inaccurate sound to it. If you listen to mostly hip-hop, it probably won't be that bad. If you mainly listen to something other than hip-hop, prepare to be disappointed! No more square subwoofers for me!

Just build your own box. Buy a single 15" CVR for cheap on Ebay or something, go get 1/2 a sheet of MDF cut up at Lowes, then just glue and screw it together. Go for like 3-4 cubes sealed for a single 15.

Would be way cheaper and sound a ton better.
