I have a kicker kx3 crossover here in good shape that I would like to get rid of. Works perfectly in every way. I do not however have the bass knob that goes with it but they can be had for less than $20 if that is a necessity for you. so can i set my mids to play from 80 to 3khz and then the tweeters from 2500 and up with this or what?

no sorry. this one doesn't have a bandpass filter on it for the mids. I do have a nice ma audio crossover though that does do that . never been powered up.original box and everything.i'd be looking for more out of that one though

ok so what exactly would this be used for in a setup?

well it has front and rear high pass filters that are variable so you can choose what frequency to start cutting the bass out of the signal going to your tweet or mid amps and protect your high frequency speakers. then it also has a variable low pass filter on the sub section with a subsonic filter and bass boost. It also probably has a bit more rca output voltage than you are likely to see from your head unit so you could crank your gains down a bit.
