Kicker Kx1200.1

I can buy this for $200 used localy. I was wondering about the rated power I know it does at least what i says but isnt 300 1 @ 4ohms little for the money?

I know its a quality amp I been looking at the 700 watt mono Alpine, wich is newer and rated around the same and cheaper.

Any comments on this, im running a 500 watt rms 12".

well you get 600@2 an over 1200@1. so no, its not little for the money...

well i know that both of the 1200's i had did high 1400's @ 1ohm and 750ish @ ohms as for 4 i couldn't recall...they are awesome amps, worth every penny...powerful and sturdy...

500 watt rms, for a max of what, 1000? might be a bit high...what kind of sub is it?

Rockford Fosgate Power HX2 not the 2000 watt one.

I can get a jl 500/1 for the same price, am im better off with the kicker?

it depends on what kind of power u need and at what ohm load. But I'd still go for the Kicker to leave room for future upgrades

That is a heck of an amp, i dont think kicker makes them as good anymore.

agreed, my zx1000 is a little monster. Plus, kicker tech support is top notch. My friend bought a blown kicker L5 15'' from that POS company in delaware audio jam, they told him it was new and worked..he got it home and it didnt work at all. Kicker sent him a brand new one.

kicker used to make the ZR1000 and XS100 amps that kicked ***, then made the kx1200.1 that was still a very solid amp but not as good as the older xs and zr's. The kx1200.1 was 1 ohms stable the new zx1000 and zx1500 are only 2 ohms stable. Again the new ZX amps are very good amps and very underrated on power but Kicker did cut a few corners on quailty parts in order to also cut costs.
