Kicker CVT in 07 mustang, fornt doors?

hey i have a shaker500 system in my new mustang roush,

well i was told that they can be replaced with aftermarket component sub

the guy at the audio shop said that they can be replaced with KICKER CVT654 shallow mount sub, but they are like 100 a pop, and have 150 rms,

does anyone know of a less expensve sub to fit in there but louder than the factory sub?

100.00 a pop isnt much at all for a sub.

You could probably find those exact subs on ebay for much less each. Its just a guestimate.

Can't remember the shops name, but saw someone here posted pics of a new mustang with re8's in the doors. I tried dayton ref's in door enclosures in mine and had to "modify" the door panels quite a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Maybe somebody will come in with a link to that mustang, it was a shop out in cali I think, and it had a 12" mx in the trunk

the shallow mount Premier 8's would be a better choice..

It would take some major modding to fit the RE8's at least behind the stock grills....I tried in mine

well i dont want to modify anything really,

and after i spend over 200 on just the speakers, then i gota buy a amp that 150 x2 rms, it will end up being like over 400 just for some mid range

Definately don't modify anything you can't live with, I went to cutting on mine before I dug and found out that replacement door panels were in the $700+ per side range.

wow that would really **** if you mess up. thats why im not modifyin, just so im posotive, what size are the subs in the door?

and they arnt 8" they are 6.5" and they have to be shallow mount woofers

the stockers are 8's and they are neo motors so not alot of room back there. I would go for a a 3 way with a 8" mid instead of a sub.

Good writeup on the doorpanel's and enclosure. Each side has 12 liter in volume so you will want to pick a driver that works well in that space.
