kicker cvr 12" 2003 model

i just got this sub for $5 from a friend of mine....i know the newer models have a rms rating of 400 watts and a max of 800 watts, does this still apply for my sub? Also what size amp would you reconmend for this sub, price or namebrand is not an issue, just what size amp..thanks

i think it's the same as mine, need a pic to be sure, but i remember it being 400watts for sure, but i don't quite remember if it was rms, or max. it's 4ohm, right? assuming it's rms, look for an amp that does 400wrms @4ohms and 13.5v.... i'l go check here in a bit to be sure...

yep its 4 ohm,dvc my camera is broken but it has the aluminum inside, if that helps any,so any size amp that will do 400 rms @4ohms?

scratch that, it's 400watt max. find an amp that will do 200-300rms@ 2ohms, or 2x100-150rms@ 4ohms

Wrong. The 03 cvr 12's are rated at 400 rms still. I still have a few of the 03 8's that are wanging away in my sisters car

ah, i went by the kicker manual... so it was rms (2x200rms)

did you like this sub? how does it perform etc? and what size amp you had it hooked up to?

Its the same basic designs as the new ones. They sound fine and get loud. Make sure the suspension isn't super loose though since it is pretty darn old at this point

anything 250 rms to 550 rms will make it wang hard

and yes it is 400 rms dvc 4
