Kicker Compr 12" to idmax v4 12"?

I want to upgrade my subwoofer because I'm looking for more of an sq setup. I have a kicker compr in a roughly 2.5 sq ft box, and I'm looking into an idmax instead. Any opinions or suggestions?

I'm running my subwoofer off of a jx1000/1d, the kicker is at 500 watts at 4 ohms, the idmax would be 1000 watts at 2 ohms

The newer comp r is actually a fairly decent woofer if you can get them for a decent price. Have you attempted to run the jx at 1 ohm? If it doesn't go into protect you'd probably be rather happy and not have to spend a dime.

Run your amp =2 ohm stable

Sub= SQ/Sound Qubed model HDS 312 and get D4 version wire to 2 ohms with 10ga wire

Box= 2.4 cu ft @ 32 htz 3/4" = Slamming! All day long!

Electrical= Big 3 with 0ga to extra AGM battery to Fused Distro block to amp/amps, 4 ga to amp min.

Sub is $159 shipped

My suggestion for the money as well as performance

IDMAX is a very nice driver. You will not be unhappy with that. I would take that every single time over any Kicker or SoundQubed.

The SQ HDS 312 is not only a SQ type sub but can also be a great spl type sub as well.All depends on tuning and as well as preping the vehicle for nasty unwanted vibrations/ sounds for sq. This sub as well as another recommendation of an American Bass XFL of which both are and can be SQ,or SQL,or SPL. Another very nice sub for SQ are Dayton and Dayton HO subs, sound very nice is a sealed enclosure also.there are so many great subs to choose from and that can be mentioned other than what Ive stated.Budget is #1 as well as the space given up and type of vehicle going in.
