kicker C12 question

I had two fosgate p1 punch subs that I just blew. I had 600 rms going to the pair. I know it was more then they were rated. they sounded great but I was on a long drive and pushed them to hard for to long. I also have two kicker C12's rated the same but I dont wanna do the same to them. Will they handle more or about the same as the fosgates. Both have the same rating. Im getting new subs and amps soon. Just getting by till taxes.

I think you'll have similar results even though I think the kickers are much better built.

However, if you spend slightly more, you can get a pair of kicker compVRs. thoes will handle the power great.

Use a voltmeter to set your gains to give the subs 300 or 400wrms and you will be fine...just because you have a 600 watt amp doesn't mean you have to give your subs all 600 watts.

Ok the fosgates were getting 300 rms and blew. so I didnt wanna do the same to these. I built a new ported box last night and I cant believe how much better it is then the preffabed sealed box I was using. They only have 150 rms and hit pretty good.

What is up with offering advice and then having a new post by the original poster that has nothing to do with anything?

I thought you said you had 600wrms. How do you know they are getting 150 now?

Because now I am running it in stereo 150 rms per channel to two 4 ohm subs. Until I get a new amp. Before I had 2 8 ohm subs bridged to 600 rms. Thats how I know. And I did listen to your advise and I appreciate it. I just didnt wanna hook these up in a way that I would send more power and blow them.
