Kicker Amplifiers

Okay have a request for opinions on amplifiers. Went to a car audio shop and got totally beat. Guy hooked me up with a concept 2002 amp to drive 2 12" subs and a premier 4 channel amp to run the rest of the speakers. Anyway long story short I'm thinking of going with kicker a kx800. 2 to drive 2 CompVR 12" DVC subs wired down to 2 ohm. Good idea or bad, any replies appreciated. Going to head over to the subwoofer forum to post a question about the CompVR's. Oh yeah does the kicker amp run relatively cool cause the concept get's outrageously hot, thanks.

400x2 RMS sure will be loud. Another thing since the amp is rated at 13.8 you will most likely be getting more then 400 rms to each sub so just be carefull since the subs are only rated at 400. Just my .02.

I'm trying to figure why 6 channels are necessary? What is the vehicle and what is the rest of the system. As for immediate question, I would choose the Kickers any day of the week.

Where are you getting 6 channels from? He has a separate 4 channel amp...

It's a 2001 jeep Grand Cherokee the 800.2 will run the subs and thinking of getting either a 300.4 or a 400.4 to run the door speakers and dash tweeters

And you have two pairs of door speakers as well as the dash mounted tweeters? I don't put much time and effort on anything in the rear...so I would run the rear doors with just the stock speakers and the headunit. Put a good amp on the front doors and tweets and the amp on the subs. Think about the last live performance you were at: Where there any rear speakers? You'll be much happier with better sound up front instead of lots of crappy sound all around.
