kicker 1/0 gauge dual amp kit questionnn

Well I just got my kit in the mail today and was taking a look at it and after looking really hard i noticed the holes in the distro blocks were pretty small and didnt look like they would fit the 1/0 gauge wiring so i tried it and it wouldnt fit. Then i took out some gold plate and now it fits. Is this what your suppose to do to make it fit? I just wanna make sure cause im going for my first install and what everything to be right i got pics

Also is there a proper place where to cut the wire when wiring from the battery to the fuse?

try to keep the fuse within 18 inches or so of the battery.

that piece is called i reducer. it just makes it to where you can use 4ga or 1/0 whichever fits you application. and as mentioned try to keep fuse within 18in of batt
