So i bought a kicker amp kit from my friend (1/0 AWG wire) and the power wire is to big to fit in the amp. so i looked at the manual for the amp and it says to use 2 gauge wire for ground and power. (i've looked but kicker does not make a 2 gauge amp kit??) is there a conversion kit i can use so i can still run a 0 gauge from my battery and then it becomes a 2 gauge to fit in the amp?? (I've heard on wires that you can go bigger but not smaller, so, do i sell the 0 gauge kit and buy a 2 gauge kit?

so i guesss the shaving down of the wire is ok? it wont affect the flow of power. Will it make the amp run at unsafe levels?
It's fine to shave it down; the amount of loss associated will be minimal. If you mean unsafe voltage levels, then no, it will not.

I know stinger makes reducers that go from 0 to 4 guage that could be used to plug right into the amp without shaving. I think I saw them on ebay.

thanks for all the help it will most deff. help. oh what about a isolator for the battery. (im running 2 batteries, im hoping to not have to change the alternator in my jeep) should i get one. How much are they? do you hook up both the car battery and the sub battery together? If you do, wire in parallel? Run another wire from sub battery to the alternator??
