"All I did was walk up and ask for a beer and the bartender got pissed and had me kicked out of the bar"... yeah, right. Im throwin the flag out.
I strongly suspect some of us may not be remembering and telling these stories exactly as they happened or only remembering the details that make them look like the innocent victim due to alcohol-induced selective memory.
It's never happened to me and probably never will. I tend to avoid hanging out with people who use alcohol as an excuse to be rowdier, ruder, and more obnoxious than they are when sober. I always hear stuff like 'He can be a real *** when he's drunk.' I find that people who are all around jerks when they get alcohol in them are all around jerks period, but just don't let it out so much until they go to the bar and knock back a few.
I am a drinker and get pretty shitfaced from time to time and pretty much conduct myself in the same way in that state as I do when I'm sober other than stumbling around a bit more and finding everything alot funnier. I've had one or two people try to start shit with with me in the bar for whatever reason. "You're more man than I am and I wouldn't win" always seems to appease them even though I know they're not and I probably would. I know people who get into confrontations in bars on a regular basis who still probably haven't figured out why I don't go out with them.
