Grieving New Mexico safety hauled off plane, booked for baggy pants - Dr. Saturday - NCAAF Blog - Yahoo! Sports

Because he doesn’t know how to dress appropriately...

The Transportation Security Administration identifies many, many official threats to our skies, from contact lens solution to gel shoe inserts to throwing stars. Even in the wake of the "Underwear Bomber," though, boxer shorts have been considered generally safe — unless, that is, as New Mexico safety Deshon Marman discovered Wednesday at San Francisco International Airport, airline personnel can see a little bit too much of them:

On Wednesday, San Francisco police got a call about 9 a.m. that someone was exposing himself outside a US Airways gate, Sgt. Michael Rodriguez said.

An airline employee spotted Marman before he boarded Flight 488, bound for Albuquerque, and complained that Marman's pants "were below his buttocks but above the knees, and that much of his boxer shorts were exposed," Rodriguez said.

The employee asked Marman to pull up his pants before he boarded the plane, but he refused, Rodriguez said. Marman allegedly repeated his refusal after taking his seat on the plane.

"At that point he was asked to leave the plane," Rodriguez said. "It took 15 to 20 minutes of talking to get him to leave the plane, and he was arrested for trespassing." Marman allegedly resisted officers as he was being led away.

Rodriguez told a local TV station that the 5-foot-11, 195-pound Marman, 20, "was not threatening anybody directly," but the airline's dress code forbids "indecent exposure or inappropriate" attire, and "being disruptive" in any fashion once on the plane may interfere with the crew. He was charged with trespassing, battery and resisting arrest, and was being held on $11,000 bail ahead of a scheduled arraignment Thursday afternoon.

Bullshit. That idiot should know how to respect other people and dress appropriately. walking around exposing your underpants is stupid to begin with. Surely if it was some big fat ugly ass bitch, people would be bitching too. And if it was a chick exposing her bra or panties, I am sure other bitches would be bitching about her. So as a general safe guarding rule, keep your underwear covered fools.

If you cant do the time, dont do the crime. If you dont want airport officials to ask you to pull your pants up in a public place, dress like a normal human being for one day. Im sure he was trying to make some statement about his 'rights', when all he was really doing was displaying his lack of respect for the moral code in the society he lives in. If he decided ass-less chaps were the next cool thing, would it be up to everyone else around him to have to look at his bare ass? People need to quit being so self centered and pretending its their 'right' to be.

Where do you draw the line? Say my cat just died. You are wearing a shirt with a cat with it's inside's exploding out it's rectum and a funny tagline. If it offends me and I tell you to change shirts, would you? I think you would politely tell me to fuck off, which I'm pretty sure Mr. Marman did. Arguing with the officials was a bad move, but the subject was ridiculous. You can bring your whole family to Hooter's to see a woman's bare ass cheeks hang out, but god forbid you catch a glimpse of some 20 year old man's Hanes. Glad our security is more concerned with dress code than safety.

You know whats expected at Hooters and you make a decision to go there. The people on the plane didnt make a choice to see his rear end hanging out. Your comparing apples to oranges.

If you don't have the self control/attention span to not stare at someone's BOXER SHORTS (no skin involved here), then I believe you have a medical disability, and should be taking medication. Especially if it's on a plane, where the entire journey is taken sitting down. I wasn't aware fashion was taken so seriously that it be cause for airport security to become involved. I don't care if the guy gets on a plane in his whitey tighties. If he doesn't plan on blowing anything up, it doesn't bother me a bit.

You obviously dont have children. Maybe it wouldn't bother you if everyone showed up in their underwear, bras, panties, briefs and skid marks galore... but that still doesn't make it acceptable. These guys know they are breaking a social more by showing their shorts, its probably half the reason they do it. We, as a society, are suppose to adapt to their individual wills, because they are unwilling to adapt to the will of society? Im not a prude, and showing boxers doesn't bother me, but again if someone is bothered by it, just pull the damn pants up like a gentleman. My God, this guy is not Rosa Parks, he's the weirdo sitting in the back with his underwear hanging out, and demanding nobody pay attention to him.

So in a society dominated by sex and violence, having your children blow the heads off of some of the most realistic representations of human beings in Call Of Duty is more socially acceptable than seeing the top of a grown man's underwear? Has society really gone that far off the cliff of reality? Being decent about the matter is something totally different. You can ask me all you want to "fix" my attire, but at the end of the day you have no say in the matter and will simply have to deal. I would understand if they were this man's employer, but no way in hell does anyone have the right to demand this in public. Indecent exposure only deals in matters where copious amounts of SKIN are shown. Therefore, if I wanted to run around in six pairs of shorts at even intervals down my legs, I may choose to do so. No one, not even the police, have any authority in this matter. I don't go around telling fat people to put on larger shirts because their fat rolls are too revealing in their tight shirts. I just come up with a simple solution-DON'T STARE AT FAT PEOPLE WEARING TIGHT CLOTHING. That's all it takes; a little self control.
