i was looking into hifonics, as far as wattage goes, im not to sure on what to get

Hifonics would be a good budget brand, but don't expect miracles form them.

arent the kicker amps much more expensive then they are actually worth? and yes i do have some sort of budget that i would want to stay within. im aiming for a $1400 budget for a whole system

1400, id get a 2 12" L7's, 2500.1 on ebay or refurbed, proper box, deadening. theres other options, im just picking between your "TC or Kicker" choice.

whats bad about hifonics? i also looked up the kicker 2500.1 amp. 2,699 watts rms for $400 on ebay thats refurbished. would that be a good amount to power 2 12s L7s?

i'm VERY happy with my Crunch PZI1500.1 amp. It's made by maxxsonics, same company that makes hifonics. 1.5k claimed wattage (I don't expect more than 1.2k), and stable at 1 ohm.

It IS a budget amp, though, and i'm only pushing one L7 with it. Just tossing it out there. As for which sub, can't help you there.
