My kdc-mp238 kenwood headunit wont turn on. With the ground connected. If you take the yellow(constant power) and attach it to a power supply, you can hear the unit power up. then when you connect the red wire(the turn on wire) nothing happens the screen doesn't come on, or anything. I have tried the reset button and replaced the fuse inline to the unit, and the one on the back of the unit.

you need to wire that red wire to your fuse box, just take the raw wire, wrap it around a prong to a fuse that runs hot ONLY when the car is in the on position, such as sun roof or something

Wouldn't that be the same as giving the red wire 12v to test it?
