kenwood radios kdc-x898 and uppp YAY or NAY?!?!

So im debating getting rid of my older radio...and everywhere I look I see these kenwood dirt cheap with tons of features. ...anyone use any of them? The 898 or 997 or is 987 idk but I will be getting one of the higher end models so offer up what you know. I personally have never owned anything kenwood and have made sure of that my entire life...so fill me in on how all these jew radiis will stack up against my older middle level eclipse.

I have the lower spec x397, and I enjoy everything about it, 4v pre-outs, several diff ways to adjust eq, just a decent all around cd player. I am currently learning about using the usb port to play songs off the ol cell phone. Yeah, I'm a dinosuar.

so they realy do sound good? I mean the 898 is only like $229 even at my local shop...so I figured on ebay it has to be pretty cheap. at the store it didn't sound too great but I wasn't sure if that was the board or the radio soo who has one that wants to sell

Lol I dont know what all the differences are. I found the 997 cheap but they supposedly have bluetooth issues. Idk man 998 is 250 the 898 is 229...call me cheap but I just dont want to spend that on a freaking kenwood lol. I probably will buy one but I got to take more time and figure out the real differences between the 898 and 998

Just never liked them. One of those brands from when I was younger that I just never wanted to own. I know they have a few good units bit overall never cared for the company I guess

I used the x996 for over a year (personal record) and i'm going back to it.Ease of tuning and the sq are top notch to me.I've tried ALOT of other hu's but come back to the 996.Just my personal opinion.Good luck
