Kenwood Radio (and windows) stop working randomly.

Ok I have a Kenwood deck that's fairly new (about a year and a half old) and for a couple of months now I've been having some problems with it.

Sometimes it will cut off unexpectedly. Sometimes it stays off for minutes, sometimes it comes back on immediately. I thought at first this may be due to a loose connection because it seemed to happen when I would hit a bump on the highway or such, but then it started to happen more frequently and now the radio doesn't come on at all when i turn my car on sometimes. When this happens I have to either turn the car off and back on until it comes back on. I took the deck out and checked the connections and everything seemed fine, but I'm no expert.

Also, I started to notice after awhile that whenever the radio does this, my power windows don't work. Everything else electrical (lights, gauges, A/C, etc.) works fine, but the power windows won't work. It's like they are in sync.

I drive a 1999 Camaro V6 and am not sure if this is a model specific question for either the car or the deck, but I thought this would be the best place to ask. Are these 2 things connected somehow electrically? Do I need a new battery possibly?

hmm that is strange....check the fuse for the windows and test the power that goes to the HU to see if maybe there is a grounding issue somewhere

Thanks for the response. I'll check that stuff when I get a chance and update you.

Just wanted to point another thing out. Today when I was driving, as soon as I pressed the power window button to roll it down, the radio died along with the windows. However, banging on the top of the dash board seems to work sometimes so that makes me think it's some loose wire.
