Kenwood KVT-911dvd code??

If i sell my HU the guy said something about needing to get him a code to unlock it? he said if you take it out it locks and i need to get the code so he can unlock it when he installs...is this true? how do i get the code?

yes its true, you need to know the original code. I always had mine as 1111 so I would never fogret it. Otherwise authorized dealers can reset it for you for like $20

is there anyway i can find the code on the HU before i take it out?

you can take off your battery terminal and reconnect it, then try and figure it out for yourself cause it will ask for it as soon as you turn your car back on. But if you cant figure it out your going to be stuck with a unit that wont do much till you get it reset.
