Kenwood KDC - X895 - Sirius Help

I have a Kenwood KDC - X895 in dash radio installed in my Explorer. I just bought the head unit new and bought the sirius tuner for it also. I hooked everything up and the everything on the radio works except for the sat radio. When I scroll through the SRC and get to Sirius, it says Connecting and I cannot figure out why this is doing this. I had a different Kenwood radio installed prior to getting the X895 and it did the same thing. So I figure it has to be either the tuner or something with the antenna. I called Crutchfield and they are sending me a new tuner and receiver box so hopefully that cures the problem. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

how did you route the antenna wire and where is the antenna located? any damage or crimp on the antenna wire would render it useless. verify the receiver box has power?

Crutchfield sent me a new new tuner, receiver box, and antenna today and I hooked everything new up and I got the same result. I have the antenna located on the top of my explorer on the pass side, near the windshield.

kdc-x895 and the scc1 are you also using the kca-sr50

yes both the scc1 and kca-sr50 is what i have

i had an older kenwood deck in there and when i got to Sirius on that one, it said Connecting...and now it says the same thing on my x895. both decks requird the same tuner
