Kenwood kdc-x789 face place

I recently purchased thise head unit off the forum.And it was working perfectly fine. Yesterday along the whole screen there was wertical lines when it was on and made the display completely unreadable. I took the face plate off and waited a few minutes and it went away. then today it started to do the same thing. Does anyone have a clue of whats wrong. Do I need a new facelate thing? Any help would be appreciated:crap:

Maybe a bad connection to the faceplate. Or the faceplate may be on its way out. Is it very cold? that can cause issues sometimes with the display.

Its actually very warm right now...When you say bad connection , do you mean between the faceplate and the unit itself or somewhere in the harness?

like on the face plate. There should be like 5-8 brass connectors. Use a pencil erasure to clean them. They should be shiny. The ones in the HU are hard to clean, cause they are like pin slots, so I wouldnt try.
