Kenwood KDC-X693 HELP?!?!?!

A while back my deck began to randomly shut off then randomly turn back on. It would only do this if left on low volume for long periods of time, or if turned up to a high volume for a short period of time. I am running an alpine MRP-M500 amp and a Rockford Fosgate P2 12" sub. I have disconnected the subs and problem still continues. About a week ago the deck shut off and now will not turn back on. I reconnected the butt connectors for the power and ground wire in the dash. Still will not turn on. I have checked the fuses as well. Not sure if I need a new deck or what? PLEASE HELP!!!

first thing you will need to do is have access to a DMM to measure voltage at the red and yellow wires at the deck. that is how you verify the unit has power. do that next. it is easiest to just unplug the radio and test the harness itself.

a slight short in the speaker wiring can cause the unit to shut off. are the speakers stock or aftermarket?
