Kenwood Excelon

I have a KDC-X491 and am having problems with it. I'm getting static/crackling from all media sources when turning the volume up. Kenwood believes it's my unit. Has anyone else had problems with Excelon unit?

Sory to hear that. I have no experience with that model of the excelon line. I have had the X-589 and now the X-990. Wonderful decks, the X-990 is the bomb. Never had any real problems with excelon. Is Kenwood telling you to send it back for another?
