Kenwood Excelon x889 vs. Clarion DXZ945MP

I like the 889 quite a bit, The 25th even more...too bad neither can go active. A similar design with active capabilties for 06 would be great.

why cant the 889 go active? its got a crapload of crossover points... sub, bass, mid, treble... thats all you really need.

I was wondering that myself. Not only does it have pretty extensive range of choices for your cutoff frequency you can set it independently for the front and rear (for those of us neanderthals who still use rear fill //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ). Why wouldn't you be able to use it in an active setup?
Flakko ~ I'm too lazy to go look it up....can the 789 have different cutoff points front and rear? Maybe I won't spend the money on an 889 or the XXV...

yea there isnt much difference between the 789 and 889 except the spectrum analyzer and some other soundstage stuff like SRS wow and crap like that. All the crossovers are the same (i think).

i think the 889 is a waste of extra money. the xxv however, with that color screen, might be worth the xtra. but even tho... not an extreme amt of difference.

I have a Clarion DXZ855MP, the one Jeremy was showing. That deck is pretty sick. Gives the dash a nice clean look. I hate the alpines because they have buttons all over the place and they aren't symmetrical. For some reason I like decks that look about the same on both sides. I just ordered a DXZ655MP for my parents for christmas (Probably overkill for them), I am really curious to see how that one is compared to the one I bought. I would highly recommend Clarion as long as your not going for the iPOD Function, because unless your getting the VRX755, the iPod controls kind of ****. I don't have access to any other music besides what are in my playlists, which makes it hard to choose specific songs.
