so the friend of mine and I installed his cd8445 just so recently. New question, are there any ways to some how secure it so thieves won't be able to get it out?

not much, if they want it bad enough they'll just take a chunk of your dash with it. activate the esn. doesn't eclipse have some gauruntee if it gets stolen?

u might somehow want to use bolts instead of screws if you got those kinda dash, but not on mines its just like popping in and popping out

if you had the eclipse unit installed at a shop. yeah you dont need to worry about it, if someone takes it, its useless to them, (cant power it up) only you can, and you will get a new one, (usually a year of theft protection)

besides that, if you can get to the back of the radio, use backstrap to bolt it in place,

If you can add a backstrap to it, do it as it will help sure it to the dash and support it from bouncing around. If a thief wants anything, they will do whatever they want to get it. Nothing is immune from theft.
