id give the looks to the clarion. that is one HOT head unit.

Well I originally decided on the kENWOOD because of its features and looks but the Clarion now has me really wondering which one I should choose.

i say kenwood excelon now. look alot like the old eclipses which is a good thing. cant complain about my x789 except the 3 band eq

how much for this deck?

but it looks mighty fine. i might get it for my next hu. if i go all active, ill probly have some xternal stuff. and the touch screen is a major plus

After I get back stateside I'm buying either a KDC-X889 or an XXV-01D ~ haven't decided which yet.

d*mn for that price ill just stick to my plan and get the 9835 or 9833.

lol i personally really dislike the look of the alpines. too non-symmetrical, and confusing to control (i was messing with shiipseki's the other day), but they have features up the WAZOO.

i bought an eclipse cd5425 but never installed it cause i really didnt like the way ot was set up...i guess its just what your used to using...ive always had alpine decks so its more normal for me where the buttons are....ive also been considering the higher end kenwood units though...my buddy has the x889 and i love it.

the G analyzer is pretty cool too... that alpine has so much buttons tho!

I'm definately leaning in that direction. It's down to $450 on Crutchfield which means it would be authorized (read as: includes a VALID 2yr warranty) and the RCA output/input cables are supposed to be better wire than the "plain" eXcelons.

The 25th anniversery Kenwood is awesome. if I had the money I would buy that one over the x889.

My buddy can get me the Clarion for 260.00 I love the Kenwood also though. As far as looks, I think thr Clarion looks better. Features wise, it seems the Kenwood might have a little more though.

The touch screen by Clarion is really cool though.

I love my Alpine 9853. Nice EQ's (7 band graphic, or 5 band parametric) good crossovers, and I actually like the glidetouch.

I like the 889 quite a bit, The 25th even more...too bad neither can go active. A similar design with active capabilties for 06 would be great.
