Kenwood DDX812

I have a DDX812 kenwood HU, 2 12's and 2 alpine amps, pdx-4.100 and pdx-1.600. the problem is i cannot get enough bass out of the hu. I can get some bass if i select the surround control, Pro-Logic II Matrix setting, but then the mids and hi's are muddy. Not sure if i missed a setting somewhere. If i select the Bypass in the surround control menu then i get very little bass.

this head unit along with the 8120 are not meant to be bassy head units

they dont have loudness,BBE,or any other type of boost.

This is a very good SQ unit and I dont think they were looking to win any SPL awards

Also check your crossover points. I get great bass out of my 8120 but its not as much bass/distortion as my Pioneer 6000, which sounded louder but really just added more distortion

Thanks, I will look at that. I listen to more rock than anything and would like to get it to hit hard like a good set of drums.

I was also hoping someone in my area could look it over to make sure i am not missing something.
