I just installed the ddx812 in my truck. Haven't had a chance to mess with it much but the 5v preouts and 13 band EQ are nice.

I ran a kenwood 6019 in the past and I like it so decided to give the newer models a try.

The JVC is a decent unit. I've had the chance to own both. The JVC functions well, but the Kenwood is still superior.

Does the ddx812 actually have the 13 band eq and 5v preouts? Some websites say it does and others say it has the 3 band eq and 2v preouts. I want to get the dnx8120 but really dont need the nav, and if the 812 has the good eq and 5v preouts I could save a lot of cash!

Indeed it does have both (13band and 5v). I was the same way, no need for nav. Its basically the 8120 without the nav.

Not sure where he saw 16 band EQ for it. Last time I checked it had 3, and yes it does have 5v pre outs.

man even if you bought the ad on nav you would still be alot cheaper than the 8120! I think this is the way to go! Thanks Duece!

i know the jvc can play movies off a usb drive but what about the kenwood? i know it can play ipod videos.

As far as I know the kenwood will not do movies off of usb, only ipod. Hopefully a software update will change that in the future.
