Kenwood amps

2 years ago I bought a Kenwood KAC-7201 off ob eBay, pretty sure it was refurbished. It was 460W rms x 1 @ 4ohms. It powered 2 12" Infinity Reference subs. It was a great deal. Never had a problem with it, and I had it for a little over a year until I sold my amp and subs. I noticed that with Kenwood amps, they tend to run warm-hot. The KAC-7201 had a fan on it so that helped cool it substantially. Even though it remained hot to the touch, it never shut off on me, but then again, i wasn't into crazy bass, just the occasional bump. Hope this helps you out.

they are fine...

but on ebay, you can practicly get a brand new one of the same for like $20-$30 more so why risk buying a referb when it could be all scratched up and shit...

just buy new man...and some places on ebay offer a yr warrantee toos

A refurbished Kenwood amp is going to have the same inherent risks that a refurb unit of any other brand would have. If it was refurbed by the manufacturer then you're essentially getting a brand new amp at a discount price. If it was refurbed by someone else then it can be somewhat of a crap shoot. It all depends on the source...

Yeah def. lean towards buying new. I bought mine refurbished because of my awsome high school budget //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif . Even though mine worked, no two amps are the same, and in situations like these, best not to take that chance.
