kenwood amp hellllp

i have a kenwood amp,model KAC-81520, powering my 12" clarion subs. everything is hookep up and the little red light is on....but no "bump in my trunk". i thought it was my p.o.s sony xplode HU (CDX-L510X) but now im wondering if its maybe my amp ( btw, does anyone know how to get into the menu of the HU? or is there sum way i can turn shit on for it to work?). when i had the set up in my blazer, running off my kenwood HU everything was fiiiine. but i wrote that off and the set up has been sitting around ( the HU gives me err 99?) so did that cause something to frig up??

Look in the owners manuals for the head unit trouble code.

Or the kenwood site.

To find out if its the amp or head unit, swap them out in a friends car or something, see which one is the problem.
