Kenwood 8-pin DIN

I found a couple of old Kenwood 8-pin DIN cables, probably about 15 years old. I'm pretty sure these were extension cables for a late 80s Kenwood receiver/equalizer/amp I had, but I don't remember. I doubt this type of cable is used anymore, but I'd rather not throw them out (I know these cables are expensive) if I could find someone who could use them.

Anyone familiar with what type of cable this is/was, or need them?

It's a round, 8 pin connector, with 1 pin in the middle and seven pins around the outside.

Yes, in the mid 80's Kenwood used those proprietary type DIN connectors. They fed from the deck to the equalizer and onto the amplifier. It was tough to try and mix and match components because Alpine (3015 Eq for example) was the same way except the pin layouts were NOT the same. You could remedy that by modifying the DIN's if you knew the pin designations. It was actually a great idea because you had less noise and sometimes the connections were balanced. People got pissed though because you could not mix and match gear without adapters.

I don't remember the deck models that used them but I do remember some of the amp models. The KAC-920, KAC-1020 are a couple.

OMG!!! I know this thread is from 2008 and this is the biggest longshot in the world but yes, I’ve been looking everywhere for these cables trying to hook up an old equalizer from back then if you’re still around in shape or do you know that colors of the pins on the dens my God that would be a huge help at least any help you could give me would be extremely helpful thank you. I appreciate it.

Check the web for those types of connectors. You might be able to find just the connectors and build your own cable.

Hey thank you very much I'm doing just that I just found out a print out from the old 8-pin setup on the din cable connectors and I think I'm just going to make my own but I appreciate it

This is exactly what I've been looking for I have no idea how old this post is but I'm trying to find the eight din pin cables to RCA so I can set up a vintage Kenwood equalizer with some vintage Nakamichi car audio if you can help add me forever in your debt

Pretty sure it's super easy to make. Just buy a din male connector on ebay and a basic rca cable.

Yes but there are 2 types 262* and 270* I am pretty sure they used 262* but knowing for sure before I purchase would be helpful. Thanks for all previous info.
