keg radio

im going to install a radio into a keg for parties/pool/beach. some friends gave me a keg to build it with.

the basic idea is to have a car batt sitting in the bottom of the keg to power a head unit and maybe a small amp. the problem is keeping the battery charged.

would it be possible to use a computer power supply to keep the battery charged up and power the radio when we're near an outlet?

any ideas for this would be cool. i thought about running a small sub/amp but i think it would drain the battery way too quickly to be worth it.

Why not just use the power supply to power the amp and ditch the battery alltogether? Just keep the keg near a power outlet at all times, or run an extension cord when one isn't close enough.

You do realize how heavy this is gonna be right? I wouldnt expect it to be very portable.

If you wanna do it right hook the battery up to a smart charger, the powermaster intellicharger comes to mind. Hardwire it inside, put a female outlet on the outside and plug it in when you are near an outlet.

^^ I dont think he knows how much space its going to take. I he puts everything inside the kep itself, your going to end up with very very little space for teh beer = FAIL

i figured after all the equipment is in there, it'll weigh about as much as a full keg. and we aren't putting beer in this one.

i checked out the smart chargers. they are cheap. hardwiring sounds like a good idea

Just run a very efficient set of 2 way's with an 8" mid.

Something like these 8" Focal Coax's would not be bad:

im doing this on a very low budget. im about broke but I got a free keg, i have an old sony HU with aux input so that'll work. I also have a set of PG RSD components that i'll throw in there. I also have an old cheap 2 channel that I could use too. how should I hook up an antenna to this bish?
