Both the Eclipse 88000 and 88000ti series woofers are exceptional performers. Generally they are geared for SQ- and pull that off amazingly. However, they pack a pretty mean kick to them too. IMO- I would choose the Eclipse over the Perfect, mainly because of its efficiency and design. A freind of mine ran his 2 88120's off of a little Sony 50Wx2 amplifier for about a month and the response was very surprising. I had tried this with my old Perfects and they did ok too, however, it was a very discernable difference between the 12.1's and the 88120's- in favor of the 88120's. We measured almost a 5db difference between the two. I will also note though that niether the 12.1 or the 88120 had any problem with break-up or distortion, even at the lower power input. Both these woofers are incredibly clean......
