wuzup peeps ??? u know , no one should dis anybody's stereo. not all of us are blessed with sponsors, or the money to buy the best stuff. it sounds like jlman has worked hard to get what he has. i respect u dude. we're all proud of what we have in our rides. this is one of the few spots on the net to brag about our sh*T. so just read what we wite and then brag about your sh*T. we're all the same here (car audio fanatics). we're a great group surrounded by a disturbed nation. we come here to brag and get ragged on. we bump on the corner and the cops rag on us. is there anywhere on this earth to just enjoy car audio without some one ragging on each other ??? now it'z my time to brag d*mnit.LOL. i have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo limited. i have 4 15" aluma pro's. all 4 share the same enclosure. i have an 8" port in the middle of the box facing the front. the port is tuned to 45hz. and all Oz audio mids and highs. for power i have 4 old school orion 250R HCCA's running the subs. roughly 3200 watts rms. and 2 orion 225 HCCA's running the mids and highs. roughly 800 watts. an alpine shuttle disc cd player. 6 gel cell optima trickle charge batteries. and a capacitor block consisting of 6 - 1 farod caps. and to top it all off, i'm not worried about what decibal i'm hitting. i built this system for myself. not for competition. all i know is my sh*T rocks this block.LOL. so, a word to the wise. letz keep the peace between our group. we're trying to do the same thing y'all. BUMP ON THE STREETS !!! and as for my favorite brands, i don't really have a favorite. i do like orion amps though. if there was a best brand then the other brands would'nt exist . and we all have our own opinions. PEACE OUT AUDIO BROTHERS. MAY THE FORCE OF THE BASS BE UPON YOU !!!

preach on my man. People say I'm a grub cause i try to get their cheap or used equipment. I just crave bass and always take what i can get so i can give some back to my friends. Car audio is a place for all to bond and we have.

Tru dat

A system is about 10% what u have; the installation, soundprofing, config, and time is the rest.

Iv got about $1100 in my system and 60 hours, but iv seen people with shitty equipment woop my ass in a db-drag all because they went all out on installation, im talkin sandbags, 5 layers of dynomat, covering the inside with bedliner, just all out. Im not that dedicated, I just make it look good w/ very few rattles.

Unregistered, I like you, and I respect everything you just said. Why don't you get registered, b/c we need someone like you to keep the peace around the forums. I know I have gotten in my fair share of arguments, but only (I mean ONLY) if they talk crap about what I have and if they come on here and talk crap to someone who I know knows a lot about car audio. I pisses me off when someone gets their first system with like a Road Gear amp and then think that they know everything.

Rangerman I totally agree. hil;e I have learned alot about car audio 9not $hit compaired to u amos, zane, etc.) i am always leaning. Like today i learned to make a sub hit harder port my rear deck. Who woulda thunk it?? Certainly not me. Right now (while i know this is a crappy system) i have 1 12" urban in a MDF over sized box, running off a 100 watts bridged JVC amp in my Corsica's trunk. While it is horrible to listen to @ loud volumes (other speakers don't help) It gave me what I wanted: Bass I can kinda feel while I drive. It impoved my dB ALOT I can tell.

I try not to rag anyones system choices. Everybody has to start somewhere. I do tend to offer suggestions away from certain products. But when I do it is to save someone from wasting money. I am all for saving money. I mean who isn't. To me it's all about fun and being happy with what you have. I am one of those people who take pride in what they do and enjoy the challenge of coming up with different ways of doing things. I have done several installs with products that some consider crap. When done these systems sounded better than alot of high dollar systems. I have always said and will continue to say 90% install 10% product. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I gotta give props to forums like these because they have saved me a lot of money just by keeping me away from $hitty brands back when I was a newbie to the car audio world...if it wasn't for listening to more experienced folks, my first system probably would have been all pyramid and jensen:eek: now I like being able to help out the younger guys and gals...I totally agree that we need more people on here that don't try to make themselves feel better by trashing on other people's stereos. As long as it sounds good to you, it shouldn't matter what other people think of it!

Keep it loud!

i understand what everyone is saying but its nutting like thinking you got a ass kicking system untill you hear something better thats the fastest way to get you gut out your system and start again:

Man If I changed my system everytime I heard one better my system would change every other week //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I must be different because I don't really care what others think of how it sounds. I am the one listening so if it sounds good to me. I'm a happy camper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I wouldnt be buzzed if anybody told me that my system is shitty as long as I personally think its kick-ass..

In my eyes the story goes real simple, to even think about fitting your car with some nice (or not nice but atleast additional) equipment then your guts are taking you in a great direction wether you spend 12000 dollar are just 500 bucks...

Example.

You bought some used **** and scrambled some other **** on a pile and then got your information through this great board (advertizzzzzzzzzing!) and started working on your car, the end result is that you spended a month on it and spended maybe 500 bucks.

In this case you didnt spend a whole lot but you showed a real interest in it and are able to explain to people how its connected, why its connected in that way and why you chose the units you chose.

The other guy might have a kickass installation which he cant tell jackshit about couz he just spended 12000 bucks, then another 2000 bucks for letting some lame company install it (no offense to audiolife i just think in order to lear you should do it yourself) and BANG he has a car with an ace system nicely installed.... Tho when somebody really interested in car audio comes i think he would be more impressed with your car then his couz he wont be able to explain all the details and his doesnt show blood sweat and tears for installing it in that way

The end sound you get doesnt say a real lot, both music and music sets are really a personal issue...

For the rest i agree with the other, you got my respect !

i totally agree beastyle. (nothing intended against audiolife or other installers) nstalling your own system is the best thing in the world. You are proud of your creation. Even though It may not be tha best you know you did it and you know when something goes wrong right where your problem should be. Thanx to these forums I now give people on AOL more help than ever before. I have learned so much from people like Ramos, Zane, Audiolife, and rangerman (just to name a few). We all gather here not to make fun of eachother or be a$$holes but to come together as 1 and talk about are favorite thing CAR AUDIO. Anyways ya'll ep on Bumpin'
