JVC Headunit Opinions

Ok, I'm looking to buy either an Alpine CDA-9856 or a JVC Arsenal KD-AR870. I've got tons of experience with Alpine, but none whatsoever with JVC. The reason I'm looking at the JVC is that it will match my dash illumination better, and has a better warranty. What I need to know is this: is the JVC a good receiver? I've had several different brands of receivers and Alpine has been my favorite so far, but this JVC looks really good. Any opinions?

I recently heard that JVC and Eclipse are under the same ownership. Dunno who owns who, but thats what I heard. I had some JVC decks and they were pretty good.

Eclipse is made by Fujitsu-ten, i think they own JVC too
