jvc hd-r30 good?

i jsut got a jvc hdr30 and was wondering if it was a good head unit? i have a sony cdx f5000 and wanted to get away from sony (lol). anyways i dont really need hd radio its just a plus, and i was wondering if this head unit was good for a aftermarket system. i will have speakers and subs amped, and want a good equalizer ecct.
