Just ordered my first ever system.. how's it shaping up?

Yeah so I got my license in July and I vowed to have a system in my '01 Chevy Blazer 4x4 by the new year. I was hella broke for the last 4 months so I had to wait to get the system for my Christmas present. My ma gave me a $1000 spending limit and this is what I came up with:

Pioneer DEH-P4800MP Head unit

2 Kicker 12" L5 Dual 4 Ohm in vented Kicker box

Kicker ZX1000.1 Mono Amp

4 Guage Amp Kit

Everything is due in on Tuesday and if all goes well it'll be installed on Wednesday. I wanted 2 L7's but couldn't fit that into the budget so I'm hoping to get rid of the L5's and get 2 L7's sometime next year.

you could probably get better for a little cheaper but it sounds good so far. Im just not a fan of mainstream stuff.

maybe get one l7 and then save up for a second? unless you can easily get rid of the l5's.

yea I know system=more then subs. I'm gettin speakers when I get a job. I have a stock Bose speaker set now so it sounds alright, but I'm trying to get some Kappas when I get some money.

And around my way it'll be easy to sell the L5's so I don't have to worry about that.

I agree with whoever said just get one L7. No hassle of selling off and buying another set of subs. Plus if you have any access to a decent set of tools I'd think about building your own box. Definitely not a fan of pre-made. They sound like *** and half the time you dont know what the box is actually tuned to. It might take some practice, but its not TOO expensive to do. My first box I made turned out pretty **** good and my T1 sounds awesome in it. Gonna be building a second box this weekend for SPL competitions in my area. Just check out the enclosure/box portion of the forums and get some tips and hints from there. You'll be surprised how much you can find.
