Ok well I just finished installing my hdc3 15 today. i built my own box, added a battery, and wires it all up with knu 1/0 wiring. it was working fine till i turned it up to about 60% on my deck.

the gain on my kicker zx.1500 is about 1/4 and i had it at 2/3 with my old setup pushing about 1500+ w.

but when its up kinda loud the bass will all of the sudden cut out but then come back a couple seconds later.

could this be a ground? the grounds up front r just resting in my knu batt terminal cuz im doing the big 3 tomorrow and stock wires wouldnt fit in the terminal.

if anyone knows what this could be to help me get rid of the problem it would be great.

all other connections seem good...

no well maybe from 14.6v to 14 even but thats still fine. im instally my h/o alt tomorrow and big 3.

i also can hear a small high pitch sound right as it cuts out. sounds like a bad connection i think. but could it be my grounds on my battery under the hood? like i said there just resting in the terminal till i do the big 3

and its a d1 sub running at 2ohms

ya definitely check all of your grounds with dmm. h.o. alt will help too. could very well be ur battery situation as well. what imp is ur sub wired to tho?

fail?

its 2ohms i said.

and yes auto fail with my grounds resting in there but i wanted to hook up my battery and amp and didnt have time to do my alt. how do u check grounds with a dmm btw. never done that but i do have a dmm.

iill fix my ground tomorrow and see if the problem is still there.

oh i missed that. but ya, big fail on the "resting". but try that first. ur amp wont have a problem at 2ohm at all, but to check resistance with dmm just switch it to the little ohm sign on the dial. if it's *close* to zero, it's a good ground. if not, find somewhere else (good idea to ground only to frame/engine block to ensure good grounding)

also, are joo sure that the sub is wired to 2 ohm? could easily have ran it parallel on accident and dropped it to .5 ohm, and ur amp might not be stable at that low

x3 just resting as in not tightened down? Your gonna fry chit that way.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
well its resting in there pretty tightly but it cant be fastened down until i do the big 3

but do u think thats my problem?
