Just installed head unit, radio buzzes but cd works

I just installed a pioneer DEH-P3000IB head unit in my corolla. The cd works great, but the radio is just fuzzy. What'd I do wrong? And yes...I'm a noob lol

are you running any amps?

Did you get an antenna adapter? Those need to be used when you upgrade to an aftermarket head unit.

what year corolla? i dont believe they need an antenna adapter...

does that car have a power antenna? did you hook up the wire on the back of the radio to the car harness?

if you did, could be a somewhat faulty unit, but probably a wire not connected

No amps, i connected the ground wire from the car harness to the one from the unit. If it wasn't grounded correctly it wouldn't even turn on right?

The antenna wire plugged into the back of the head unit fine. Do i still need an adapter?

any other ideas? i have two loose orange wires coming from the car harness. one with a white stripe, one with a black stripe. what are these for?

The two loose wires are dimmer control wires.

Don't most corollas have the ant on the outside of the A pillar? check to make sure its extended all the way out.

The pillar (metal support piece )that runs from the dash to the roof.

O haha i thought that might be it. Yes the antenna is extended all the way out. The radio worked with the old head unit in there.
