Now, I don't want this to go in the review section because I am not really reviewing it, commenting more like it, I just put in 20 sq feet of the stuff(damplifier) in my car, and well I am not blown away, I got 20 sq ft of Damplifier and 18 sq ft of rattlepad, My car is an xterra, so I put about 16 sq ft on the tailgate and 2 sq ft behind each of my 6x9s. While I was installing it I noticed that my tailgate felt more solid and made much less noise each time I closed it, I was thrilled, then behind the 6x9s I went outside the car and banged on it and noticed it sounded more solid, so I finish installing it, anywhere from 1-3 layers in spots depending on where I could get my hands to apply it, and then reconnect everything and go at it, well at first it doesn't seem loud at all, all my amp settings are the same, cd player, everything the exact same as when I took it out, and it sounds not better, but worse, I go outside the car and my tailgate is still rattling and such, but not as much as it used to, inside I don't hear any of the rattles that I used to have but a few I didn't know I had( probably because I coulldn't hear them before) well I go and tinker with the amp and blah blah, and sit back in the driver seat, I play Moby 'why does my heart feel so bad' very deep resonating bass, and let it go. Well it sounds better than it did when I first hopped in the car, but not quite the difference I was expecting, sitting in the backseat the rear speakers are more audible( they're stock so they **** anyways) which is good because the bass used to drown them out entirely, but the bass isn't blowing me away

Now, I don't know if I was expecting to much, I realized I only put 20 sq ft on and it is the cheaper version that is offered, but I am not overwhelmingly impressed, I am satisfied by what it did, but it isn't "awesome"

so there you have it, maybe I was just expecting to much, I like the fact that it did help the sounds stay in, and I would be willing to put more in to prevent sound from leaving my car, so I still recommend it, just don't expect to much

ok mods if you want to put this in the review I understand, but i'd rather keep it her to get comments

i'm sorry, but what kind of difference did you expect by eliminating less than 5% of road noise? to be truly effective, most people do their entire cargo area with 1 layer if not more, and the same thing on each of their doors. the goal is to block road noise, not just allow it to move around the dampened areas and still enter the car.

Perhaps you liked how your rattles blended in with your music......I used the product to dampen a Maxima last weekend and it very well served its purpose- less rattle, less road noise, and more accurate respose out of the drivers surrounded by the stuff and it does keep sound inside the car-

I feel you were def expecting too much- My only expectation when I did my own car was to hear nothing but music- too bad the most annoying rattle I cannot solve is my rear view mirror

I realize I was expecting to much, if I had gone in with say 100, 150 sq ft and didn't see the results then I would be a bit more dissapointed, the only thing now is that after removing some of the panel trim, when I close my front passenger door there, there is an annoying suction like click in the compartment where the 6x9s are, I can feel the air coming out of some hole, but don't know where exactly it is from, and what is causing it, haha dammn

yeah same here. on my 2k2 during the hot daytime i honestly think its going to break in half. its only only rattle left too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i wish i had the mirror from the 2000-2k1 maxes.

rip it off or loosen the screw. it might work
there is no screw, its bonded to the windshield along with the antenna- the rattle occurs from the glass/within the mirror- might have to take it apart see if i can make sit more tight/flush inside the housing

well just to report back in here, I do like what the SS has done, while it hasn't increased the overall volume dramatically, it has created a fuller, more robust sound than I had before. Overal it seems that I am getting more from my subs in sound reproduction thab before the absence of rattles also has me stoked, It really was worth it, now I just want my whole car deadened, ny phiosophy is its my music not other peoples to listen to, I want the sound in, not out
