just heard a 12" Orion H2...

i was at my buddies new shop that he just opened this week...i hadnt seen the place and he was grilling out tonight and invited a bunch of people...

there are like 7 hooked up cars there, and 1 of them was this 2 door civic, and this dude just kept talking it up so hard "yea i got 5000 watts" "my sub alone weighs 62lbs" so im just like, alright, let me check it out...so the install looks like basura, he has a single H2 12.2 in a REALLY small sealed box, almost the size of the woofer, an Orion HCCA-D5000 (which i dont believe actually does 5000 watts, if im not mistaken) , a red top stinger battery, a wicked tiny distro and all done up with 2 gauge JL wiring (i think it was 2 guage)

im thinking, man my first time hearing an H2, im a tad excited....sike...sounded horrible, just muffled nasty sounding bass, and it wasn't even that loud...it sounded like a poorly installed 12" solo baric...

then he heard my MX and he no longer talked about his H2, kinda felt bad, i thought his sub was better than mines, on paper...

im just glad it wasn't my boy who did the work...

that orion HCCA-5000 puts out 2500 at 1 ohm.

I had a 12" H2, and definatly wasn't impressed. Since the buyout, the only thing that was worth a **** was the 2500d. My 12" XXX ('05) is sooo sooo sooo much better. I understand why the H2's were so cheap on eBay.

I would take an MX over an H2 any day. Also, it's not really fair comparing it sealed though, especially not in a small sealed enclosure.

Where is this shop and what are they going to be distributing? I might swing by sometime if it's close.

well, i expected more, so i was really let down...sall good...

the shop is off 434/1792 area, so your wicked close if your in Oviedo i think he named it ULTIMATTE SOUND SOLUTIONS or something, im a horrible friend, didnt even notice haha...i have a bunch of cards in my car, but im lazy...

he is carrying JL (basically everything), Kicker (tons of amps, comps and wiring) and Orion (amps and supplies only) he is also carrying Kenwood, Clarion and Alpine decks...Directed Audio wiring as well...

yea, i need to point out that there was never a comparison in my mind, i just didnt think there would be such an overwhelming difference...especially considering he's running 2500 and im running 1700ish...RE prevails again...
