Just got subs, lights dimming with shitty Sony Amp

Just got my subs and i have my amp bridged to one of them and the lights dim slightly when it hits. Problem is the amp i'm running is shit compared to the one i'm going to get in a week or so.

I have the old Sony Xplod 1200w 2c amp currently and will be getting the Kicker zx1000.1 soon.

so, the Big 3 is a must i know.

It's a 1993 Altima.

But, what about after that? I have a new battery. My alt is stock like 60a. The kicker should be a little more effecient i know but i still think i will be dimming.

So, my question is, what should i do AFTER i do the Big 3? Should i try a second battery in the trunk? How would i wire it, run a pos from front batt to rear batt, then pos from rear batt to amp and ground the rear batt to the front batt? Would the alt keep them both charged?

Should i look into putting a HO alt in the system? A capacitor? Also i plan on upgrading my pos wire to the amp, i currently have 8 awg, i will probly move to 4awg so it'll be easier for the amp to draw more power.

Would i benefit from replacing my current front battery with an Optima Yellowtop and then moving the current front battery to the trunk? I work at a shop and can get a discount on batteries.

Try the big three and definitely upgrade your power to at least 4 ga.

What kind of battery do you have up front now?

I would be hesitant to add a 2nd battery to only a 60 amp alternator so you may want to check into getting a larger alternator if you still have dimming after big 3 and larger power wire.

It's an Energizer. I work at pepboys and it's the biggest battery (CCA wise) that the computer shows for my car.

Now i'm not 100% that my alt is 60 amp, it's either 60 or 80 if i believe right.

Is there someone around here or a website that is good with HO Alt's? i've searched and can't seem to find any.

try a capasiter....1 maybe 2 farad....no less....it outta work for tha extra power ur taking from tha car...it is very easy to install
