I am running quad mids in my front stage 2 per door. I had a local body shop give me a estimate of $80 to build pods for the doors using mdf. Well he has had my doors for around three weeks so I went up there just a few mins ago to see what was going on. Well after a few attempts trying to use the mdf he came to the conclusion that mdf would be just way too heavy for the doors. So he went ahead and made glassed pods for them and painted them to match my doors. They look very nice much better than I could have ever imagined. So I asked well since you had to glass how much extra are you going to charge me. He said once he gives a price that’s it. So I just got my doors glassed for $80... Still needed to do some cleaning and such before I can have them but I will get pics Friday when I go up there to pick them up. Was having a crap day now it’s a great day. I will be giving a nice tip but I think it’s just cool that he wants no more money as he is a man of his word and sticks to his original price.

Read OG post pics will be here friday. No need for pics of an unfinshed project. I mean if i was doing them then I would provide build pics but since I am not then you will only get a finished project pic.

lets hope he didnt just wrap fleece and soak in resin. if he truely used glass and smoothed it all out then you got a deal. if just wrapped in fleece and resin coated you got about what you paid for.

Nope I know what you’re talking about and that is not what was done. When I went up there it was done correctly as I have a fiberglass sub box sitting in my living room and the construction is identical. Having him wrap the fiberglass in synthetic leather and painted to match the doors as the smooth glass look did not look good with the rest of the door as my doors have a wrinkle/wavy surface. Will have pics up today!!!

yea what ur describing if done rite is worth a ez $500...
Really $500 for just lower door panels glassed?? Seems alil high. Even audio shops I called before I was told to go see Raymond at Bellvue Paint and Body in Bossier City, La and the highest I was quoted was around $175 per door.
